Agate is one of the stones that is highly emphasized in Islam and encourages people to use it. Many hadiths and narrations from various sources have been mentioned about agate. In this article, some of these narrations have been collected and we suggest that you read them to learn more about the supernatural properties of agate.
Regarding the characteristics of the ring, it is narrated from Imam Reza (a.s.) that he said: “Whoever wears a ring with agate as its gem, firstly, he will not become poor, and secondly, divine destiny and destiny will be good for him.” One day, a person close to the Imam was passing by him with one of the governor’s servants. He said: “Give him an agate ring.” The people around him did so, and they saw that no harm came to that person. He said: “Agate provides protection during travel.”
It is narrated from Imam Kazim (peace be upon him) that he said: A person is not a believer unless he has five signs: first, he carries a toothbrush, a comb, a prayer rug, a 34-bead rosary, and an agate ring.
Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Ishaq says: I took a person to Imam Sadiq (a.s.) and Imam Sadiq (a.s.) said: No hand that is raised towards God is beloved unless there is an agate ring on that hand.
It is narrated from Imam Sajjad (peace be upon him) that he said: Whoever buys a ring with agate as its gem and the names of Muhammad, the Prophet of Allah, and Ali, the Wali of Allah, engraved on it, will not suffer a bad death and will die with his fitrah (his fitrah means acknowledging the truthfulness of God).
9-Abd Khair says: Ali (a.s.) had four rings that he used to wear: a ruby for his nobility and greatness, turquoise for his victory, Chinese iron for his strength, and agate for his safety. (There was an engraving on each of them.) On the ruby was the inscription: La ilaha illallah, al-mulk al-haq al-mubiny (There is no god but Allah, the true King, the manifest one), and the turquoise inscription was: Allah, the true King, and the Chinese iron inscription was: Al-Izza Allah, all of them. And the agate inscription was in three lines: Ma shaa Allah, La quwwata illallah (There is no power except in Allah), and Astaghfirullah (I seek forgiveness from Allah).
